Summer Spectacular - Outdoor Movie and USD 266 Drone Show

We are thrilled to announce a fun event coming to the Maize community, brought to you by the Maize Recreation Commission and USD 266. Our talented Fifth Grade through High School students will be showcasing their skills with both programmable and non-programmable drones.
Get ready to witness non-programmable drones take on obstacle course(s) and watch as programmable drones light up the sky in a spectacular show. This event will also feature exhibits in robotics, coding, and STEAM. Don't miss your chance to get involved, opportunities for participation will be available on a first come first served basis.
Our evening line-up will also include aerialists form Flow Foundry, a local performing arts studio in Wichita Kansas that specializes in aerial and circus acts, face painting and balloon art.
To wrap up the evening, we will be showing an outdoor movie screening of "The Greatest Showman" on an inflatable movie screen, which will have a projection surface of 20 feet by 12 feet. Please feel free to bring your lawn chairs and blankets for your comfort during the movie.
Schedule of Events:
6:30 PM: Doors Open
6:30 - 7:00 PM: Welcome Injoy Fountain Academy and James and the Giant Peach Musical cast and crew, to sing a few opening numbers.
7:00 - 7:15 PM: First Drone Show
7:30 - 8:30 PM: Activities Include, Robotics, Coding and STEAM
8:30 - 8:50 PM: Second Drone Show
8:50 - 9:00 PM: Preview, get snacks and wait till movie starts.
10:30 PM: Movie Ends.
